The problem with the Voltron fandom (not everyone, thank god for that) is that the FANS hype things so much that when it happen in the show that is not the way they wanted it to be, some of them get soooo dangerously angry/frustrated that they go out of their way to send death threats to the crew… if you do that you don’t really deserve the show we have

i love voltron. like actually, completely, unironically. fuck all the ships and discourse and fandom. i love the show. the animation and the backgrounds and the whole concept of giant fucking robot lions in space, dude. aliens and black holes and cool planets and galaxies. friendship and found family and bonding. i love that shit. sometimes it’s easy to forget that the show itself is actually pretty fucking incredible when ur constantly being bombarded with fandom bullshit but like. man. i love voltron.

Thoughts on Voltron fandom after s7

I think is really interesting how half of the people that were complaining about the Adam situation, how this season was bad and all, were just shippers that are frustrated that their ship is not canon…. are you kidding me?!

Look is ok to feel sad about it, this is valid. I’m not here to trying to say that you can’t feel sad about your ship, I have my own ships too, but some people have taken this to another level!

These people - not all of them, ok, but there’s a good percentage - are so obsessed by a ship that they’re actually ignoring canon stuff, “rebooting” the series - cuz they think they can make a better job than the professional - and trying to take others that are happy with the show down, just so they can stay in their comfort zone/bubble and stroke their own ego. Guys, this is so unhealthy not just to the show, the fandom and the crew, but to themselves… that I just feel sorry for them.

This is so frustrating, cuz I wanted to be mad at them, I wanted to laugh at how out of the way some of them can go just to get what they want, but I can’t, I just feel really sorry for these people!

I feel sorry about how, constantly, they act as a spoiled child that can’t take no as an answer, how they always make it about ships - that was never the point of the show to begging with, Ok?!

I mean lets talk about it for a sec: it breakes my fanheart to say this but unless it was officially stated by the crew, this or any other show owns you NOTHING! It owns US nothing. I’m sorry for throwing this bucket of cold water, but thats the truth.Thats why people that are actually upset about the Adam incident have all the right to be. We were told something different than what we got, I do think it was blow out of proportion a bit, part by of the overhype of the fandom, but it was stil queerbaiting.But when it comes down to ships, they don’t have to please any of us by something we prejected on the show by ourselves. Because we all have our own agendas, positive and negative, that we project into things. So thats the tea, the show and the crew don’t own you any explanation on why your ship isnt canon, but we all own them at least respect for the good show they gave us, even if you try to convince yourself that you could do it better.

Voltron can be a good fandom where people don’t have to be constantly at war over ships. We could all just respect one another even with different opinions. And listen, you can have your aus and everything if is just to have a good time, I have my own as well, what saying here is about people that drown themselves into this things and dont see that thats not how the real world works. These people need a break from the internet and from this site.

We can talk about it in the notes, as long as its a respectful conversation i’m open to listen too. Tell me what points you thing i’m wrong and what points you think I’m right.
